Soy Candles – The Healthy Alternative to Paraffin

100% paraffin free! Non-toxic! No soot! No carcinogens!

What is Paraffin?

Paraffin is a petroleum product - a byproduct of oil refining. As a result, it contains dangerous toxins and carcinogens when burned.

THE DANGERS OF PARAFFIN

Paraffin wax, which has been used in candle making for over 100 years, has recently been discovered to be a health and environmental concern. Some traditional candles emit harmful toxins such as benzene, acetone, lead and mercury. A study done in university at the Michigan found these toxins to exceed Environmental Protection Agency's standard for outdoor air. The quantities of these toxins in paraffin candles can produce an excess cancer risk with multiple exposures.

Soy Candles have other advantages over traditional paraffin candles:

*Paraffin produces more soot, coating ceilings and walls, and damaging your home.

*Paraffin burns at a higher temperature, increasing the fire danger when using them.

*Many people get absolutely horrible headaches when around paraffin candles. Many of these people find that their headache comes from the paraffin, and the headaches don’t appear when using a Soy candle.

*There are environmental and economic advantages to a natural, renewable resource like soy, as opposed to petroleum-based paraffin.
